What is St. Patrick Day celebrated for?
St. Patrick’s Day ( March 27th) is the official feast day of St. Patrick, also known as the patron saint of Ireland.
Although, despite the parades & celebrations in honor of St. Patrick, his early life had a pretty rough start…
Born in Roman Britain ( around the late 4th century ) St. Patrick was kidnapped as a teenager, & spent years as a slave in Ireland.
Even though he was able to escape, St. Patrick returned to Ireland as a Christian missionary! His legacy was built around the establishment of several monasteries, churches, & schools.
You can find all kinds of legends on his life, like driving snakes out of Ireland!
