Making creativity apart of your self care routine adds more joy into your everyday.
Being creative lets you detox from anything you’re going through, even if you can’t find the words to express what you’re feeling.
It lets you explore your inner world through making things with your hands!
Personally, my self care routine has had its ups & downs. Yet I know when when I make creativity apart of my wellness regime ( along with diet, movement,& relationships) my inner child is loving it.
I hope these tips shows you simple ways to add a bit more creativity into your own self care routine!

How is creativity self care?
Creativity is self care due to the fact that humans are inherently creative ( even if you don’t realize it!)
When you create something you’re opening up a door to:
- Self expression & discovery
- Reduced levels of depression, anxiety
- Even boosting brain function!
1. Try a creativity meditation
Research continues to shine a light on the positive benefits meditating has on our mental health! In fact, just 10-12 minutes a day can actually boost your creativity.
My few of my favorite creativity meditations that always leave me feeling inspired & intuitive, are:
- Color breathing meditation
- Head space 10 minute creativity meditation
- Boost creativity & desire meditation
- 5 minute meditation to access creativity
2. Do a daily exercise / challenge
As a busy mom, I can go weeks without making art or doing anything creative.
Having a workbook has small 5 minute art challenge has allowed me to remain consistent in my routine, & show up for myself ( no matter how tired I am!!)
I’m loving the 365 day workbook series :
3. Take more pictures!
Take a picture of something that captures your attention.
You don’t need a fancy camera! All you need is your phone camera ( or the cheap disposable ones )
This is something I recently started doing & it’s really helped me to notice more beautiful things throughout my day.
