Fall activities isn’t about stressing to add more things to the do list, or spending loads of money.
It’s finding the doing the little things that light your up spirit so you can to show up as your most joyful and true self.
It’s becoming intentional your time so you can look back on wholesome memories with family and friends that last a life time.
I hope these 10 activities inspire you to invite more playfulness, ritual, and creativity in your homes!
1. Make Fall Art & Crafts
Whether you’re feeling a date night, solo activity, or ideas for the whole family, making crafts allows us to do what humans do best ( create!)
Here are some fun ideas I’m going to try this year:
- Pumpkin pie play dough
- Make fall spice paints
- Practice gratitude with a thankfulness tree
2. VISIT A PUMPKIN PATCH
My daughter was only one month old when we took her to her first Pumpkin Patch last fall, and even though she had no clue what was going on, I loved it!
Such a cute and fun tradition each to look back on + loads of patches are free entry ( okay, the pumpkins are a little over priced tbh) but I’m looking forward to doing it again this year, especially now she’s older.
3. GO APPLE PICKING
I actually have yet to go apple picking but now it’s almost September, I’m definitely wanted to give it a go.
I can just imagine my little toddler running around in the apple fields right now, and it’s simply too cute.
4. EXPERIMENT WITH BAKING
Every weekend my daughter and I bake together. It’s such a special ritual that I know we’ll remember forever.
Plus you have a ton of amazing seasonal deserts to snack on during the week.
Here are some ideas:
- Homemade pie ( caramel pear, peach blackberry, , and of course the classic apple & pumpkin)
- Any favorite fall recipe from childhood
5 Revamp Wellness Routine
This is the my wellness routine for the fall, I’m currently loving:
1. A very nice warm hot shower with lavender mist ( amazing for calming the nervous system)
2. Brew a soothing cup an autumn tea like pumpkin pie or hot cider
3. Breathe-work (4 in, 4 out, hold for 4, repeat)
4. A cozy blanket & classic fall movie or book until I pass out
This all takes 30ish minutes max after my baby goes to sleep. It’s not perfect, I tune into how I feel & adjust from there.)
6 Attend a Fall Festival
Each year my elementary school hosted their annual Fall Festival and it’s something my family and I visited for years ( until they closed down- a long 100 year run!)
Just thinking my friends and I playing the musical chairs game where the winner took home a homemade cake feels my heart with such nostalgia.
7. TAKE CRISP MORNING WALK
Something just hits different about the fresh and crisp morning fall air.
I try to get out first thing in the morning when its still quiet.
This really sets me up to have an amazing day because:
- It quiets my thoughts, it allos more space for creative inspiration to bloom
- Exposure to sunlight ( even if its hiding) is one of the best things we can do for our mental health.
9. HOST A Spooky FALL ACTIVITY Movie Night
When I was younger, every Saturday we had a movie night. It was so much fun and I want to carry on this ritual with my own family.
Hosting a fall themed spooky movie night is the perfect excuse to grab your cozy blanket, light a candle, and unwind.
10. Plan a Fall Picnic
Picnics aren’t just for summer! And honestly, I love any excuse to get outside and spend time in nature with family and friends.
If it’s not too cold try grounding ( walking!) during your fall picnic to reap the amazing benefits for your body and spirit.
Picnic ideas:
- Flask of your favorite warm drink ( I’m a bit of hot chocolate craze, but you could it on theme with a pumpkin spice!)
- Sometimes I just love bringing deserts! ( cakes, mini pies, you name it!)
