Inner child healing affirmations are perfect to pull out when you crave some encouragement, to go into your daily journaling practice, and create therapeutic art activities.
And if right now you’re thing, ” are affirmations even that effective?”
Allow me to put you’re hesitations to ease!
Because the reality is, affirmations definitely don’t have magical healing powers ( I wish they did…)
Yet they have been a staple in my own inner child healing journey.
Using affirmations consistently has given my inner child ( & artist) a safe place to poke their head out and finally find their voice again.
They’ve helped me to remember my inner creativity, playfulness, & acceptance for who I am!
Which is why I want you share these 37 inner child healing affirmations.
How do I know my inner child is hurting?
A few of the (most common) warnings your inner child needs healing are:
- A feeling of disconnection to your true authentic self & desires
- A lack of creative outlets, hobbies, interests, & passions
- Constant feelings of guilt or need to always defend yourself
- You feel you aren’t creative or have ideas worth being listened
How do I affirm my inner child?
The most potent muse of all is our inner child.
Stephen Nachmanovitch
The very first steps to letting your inner child shine is think all the way back to childhood.
What hobbies, interests, & creative outlets did you used to love to?
- Maybe you played in the band, was your classes fastest swimmer, or could spend hours nerding out on history!
What’s some topics you’ve always wanted to try or learn about?
- Engaging even ( the littlest!) ounce of curiosity you have about ANYTHING!
- In fact, Elizabeth Gilbert in her book ” Big Magic” calls our curiosity the “building blocks of creativity.”
- She said how entertaining her (slight) interest in gardening, the learning journey inspired her novel The Signature of All Things.
- The moral of the story? You never know where your curiosities will lead to discover hidden talents, & passions you never knew you had.
Finally, reprogram negative thinking patterns by repeating affirmations / mantras.
- Our brains have an amazing ability to reprogram itself through the exposure of doing things that make us uncomfortable ( ex- taking that cooking class, booking the ticket to Rome, etc..) & through the recitation of affirmations.
