Picture this:
You wake up one random summer Tuesday morning, go to look at your reflection in the bathroom mirror and the reflection staring back at you is your 5 year old self ( very- freaky Friday vibes!!)
Suddenly, you notice that you’re in your old childhood home as well! After the obvious shock wears off, what is the first thing you do?
And if you were robbed of this magical childhood experience ( as so many of us were), what would your dream one consist of?
Honestly, I love imagining this scenario to help heal my inner child, and re-discover the magical feelings of growing up.
WHAT IS INNER CHILD HEALING?
In short, our inner child is our most authentic selves!
Okay, I know when I first heard that I was like what does that even mean?!
Think about like this:
When I was a kid, I loved reading, learning, and storytelling, I was loud, ” bossy” and didn’t stick to the rules.
As I got older, I stopped writing, gave up “childish things” and became quite reserved.
This is because people’s opinions of me, and what was “cool” at the time, clouded my judgement of what my passions, and much like a chameleon forced me to change who I was to appease those around me.
It’s all about rediscovering the confidence to ourselves through play, creativity, and curiosity.
