I desperately dreamed of being more creative, & exploring different hobbies & passions…
Yet subconsciously I was operating from a narrative that shouted, “ I wasn’t smart or good enough to try!”
Of course, this halted my ability to ever try anything that made me slightly uncomfortable.
It was only confronting my limiting beliefs head on that gave me the confidence to follow my curiosity, regardless of fear.

Where do limiting beliefs come from?
Limiting beliefs stem from childhood traumas , & past experiences where you didn’t feel seen, heard, or accepted.
At first, they can be beneficial.. ( I know, what?!..)
How?
They can help us deal with difficult situations, tumultuous relationships, or painful emotions ( especially during childhood…)
Yet when the stressor is over, those limiting beliefs can stick with us & subconsciously impact every future thought, decision, & emotion that arises.
What are some strategies for overcoming limiting beliefs?
Thankfully, there are many different strategies can do to overcome limiting beliefs, & live a life of high self belief.
Here are a few:
- Do something that scares you! ( yes you might look silly the first 10 times you do it, but so what?!)
- Read books on personal development & psychology
- Replace your top limiting beliefs with the opposite ( recite this to yourself daily)
- Listen to motivational podcasts & videos

- Reflect back on your childhood. What experiences string to mind?
